Stand Alone manager in P3D V2.2 not working
« on: June 06, 2014, 04:42:30 pm »
Hi, I have bought a number of airports from FSDT and want to use them with P3D V2. Since something is wrong with the installation of the addon manager,  I am not able to install any airport.
After installing the new addon manager in P3D V2.2 (Norton is deactivated) there is no entry in the ADD-ON menue. The entry in the XML.DLL is ok. If I try to run the couatl.exe I get the message that the side-by-side konfiguration is not ok. I am aware, that this is not directly a FSDT-issue, but maybe out of your experiance you can give a good customer a hint what to do and how to solve the problem. I am using W7 64 bit.
P3D is installed directly under c:
Thanx alot, best regards
Andrej

I wasn't sure, where zo put the issue, so I put it under CYVR, because I used that airport (and LSZH) for testing

This has been discussed several times on the forum, and it's a result of an incomplete P3D installation, missing the Simconnect runtimes, see here:

Hi, unfortunatly it doesn't work. I removed the addon manager, ran the 2 msi setup programms
 \Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\redist\Interface\FSX-SP1\retail\lib
\Lockheed Martin\Prepar3D v2\redist\Interface\FSX-SP2-XPACK\retail\lib
, them I started P3d and it was ok. After that I installed the addon manager, when I then started P3D V2.2 I get a popup saying: P3Dexe funktioniert nicht mehr....(Prepare3D doesn't work anymore.....) and the application is closed.

Best regards

You should check the Windows Event Viewer, under the Application Logs, to see recent crash Details for the Prepar3d.exe file , and post them.

From your error log, it shows the crash happened in MSVCR80.DLL

Quote
Name des fehlerhaften Moduls: MSVCR80.dll, Version: 8.0.50727.6195, Zeitstempel: 0x4dcddbf3

Which means it doesn't have anything to do with any of our products, most likely, you have a problem with your Visual C++ 2005 runtime libraries, their installation might be corrupted/missing.

- Go in the Windows control panel, and Uninstall ALL the instances of the Visual Studio 2005 redistributable runtimes. You might have more than one version, remove them all.

- Then, after removing everything related to VS2005, reinstall again these 3 files:

Hi, I found 2 Files I uninstalled them (++2005). Then I downloaded the first 2 entries (VCRDIST_x86). When I tried to download the third entry, I got the message, that I have to select a file. (see attachement). There are 3 files I can select for downloading. Which files do I need ?
Kind regards Andrej

Hi, unfortunatly I still get the same error when starting P3D. I did the following:
1. uninstall the C++2005, addon manager and 2 simconnect clients.
2. turn off antivirus
3. install 3 vcredist_x86 files
4. install 2 simconnect
5. install addon manager

I attached 2 files, fsdt programme.jpeg showing the relevant programs and fsdterror showing the windows log.

Kind regards

Hi, unfortunatly I still get the same error when starting P3D. I did the following:

As I've said, the problem doesn't have anything to do with any of our products, they are just a victim of your problem. Your error indicates that P3D itself is crashing when IT was calling some function in the MS VC++ runtime library ( MSVCR80.DLL ).

The solution I've posted doesn't guarantee you would solve each and every VC++ runtime issue in any case. It's just one thing to try, but sometimes there might be problems that can't be fixed without reinstalling Windows.

Do you have FSX too in the same system ? Try a REPAIR of the FSX SP2 installation, the repair process *might* (again, not 100% sure) fix your VC++ runtimes.

Hi, thanx for the try. I used to run FSX und P3D 1.4 (with th fsx->p3d migrationtool) on the same windowsinstallation, so I will give the FSDT products another try after I created a new windowsinstallation.
Kind regards
