getrunningmode error **SOLVED**
« on: April 17, 2014, 03:44:33 pm »
I have a problem when entering a flight in FSX all of the sudden.  A message box keeps popping up saying something has caused Couatl to restart.  I checked the .err file and this is what keeps coming up:

couatl v2.0 (build 2356)
panic log started on Wed Apr 16 23:13:39 2014

problem raised by addon <unknown>Traceback (most recent call last):
File "couatl\CYVR\__init__.py", line 322, in onAppStart
NameError: global name 'getRunningMode' is not defined

Any suggestions?
Andrew

The message doesn't say just that. It also says to download and install the latest Stand-Alone Addon Manager, which you don't seem to have done, because you are still running a previous build of the Couatl.exe program, the current one is 2358.

The difference between the 2356 you are running, and the current 2358 is, precisely, the getRunningMode() function, which communicates to the plugins if the host sim is FSX or P3D.

Yes, and that is what got me into trouble, albeit because I foolishly double clicked Couatl_Updater.exe from outside FSX instead of DLing from the website.

Ended up just reinstalling it and it seems to work just fine now.

Thanks
